Richard and I are passionate about cultural exchanges. We believe that through greater understanding among different peoples around the world, these different groups will be more likely to strive for peaceful resolutions when conflicts arise  among them.  We are involved with the Sister Cities to be a small part in the process of developing understanding and friendship among different peoples.

We have taken the opportunity of hosting many Chilenos from our sister city Punta Arenas.  We have formed a close bond with them and we have maintained our friendship through the years.  Our Punta Arenas friends have been inviting us to come and visit. So this November we will visit Punta Arenas to rekindle friendships, meet their families and friends.

We hope to meet community groups, and those interested in learning and visiting Bellingham.  We will inform them of our great city. But also, we want to learn about Punta Arenas, walk their streets, eat their food, hike Torre del Pine, laugh with our friends and see the beauty of our sister city.  We can then return to Bellingham and share our experience.
