Japanese Ikebana Flower Display
Returns to Bellingham City Hall
The Bellingham Sister Cities Association (BSCA) is very happy to announce the return of bi-monthly ikebana flower displays at Bellingham City Hall. Noriko Sharik is a certified instructor of Sensho Ikenobo School of ikebana, based in Kobe, Japan. She creates the ikebana displays starting at 10 a.m on the days that the City Council meets. They are displayed for 5 days.
BSCA is privileged to have Noriko Sharik and her assistant Noriko Sone volunteer their time and expertise to bring beauty and peace to City Hall in fulfillment of the BSCA mission.
The public is welcome to join them to experience the artwork in progress and learn about the inspiration for each installation. They may be viewed during city hall hours Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Displays are located in the main lobby stair landing and in the Mayor’s office.
If you have interest in learning ikebana, please contact the BSCA at president@bsca.org to learn more.
